The Cooper Jaguars (6-0) host district rival Conner (5-1) on a Thursday. The Conner Cougars are coming off a 56 - 0 win over Scott that featured a steady, group-effort run game and a smothering defense. The defense was highlighted by Wyatt Hatfield's two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown. Cooper had a much harder week as they squeaked by Highlands 24-21. Cam O'Hara threw for 270 yards and Ryker Campbell led the way on defense with 14 total tackles. Austin Alexander, though limited in his regular volume of yards and touches on offense and tackles on defense, had a spectacular 71 yard touchdown reception, his only reception of the morning.

So Cooper comes in on short rest, from Saturday morning to Thursday night. It really is never going to get much tighter than that schedule wise. This was a 41 to 7 game at Conner last year. Even though Conner is slightly improved, I don't believe they are going to be able to contain the explosive Jaguar offense and I think Austin Alexander is going to be rearing to go on both sides of the ball.

Conner will be on short rest as well they played Saturday also. Should be a great game.

    It doesn't appear as if Conner can defend the run.
