5A Ohio County (0-5) at 5A Bowling Green (4-1)

The Eagles come calling for 2024 Homecoming for the Purples.

I believe this will be the last season Ohio County is residing in 5A District 2 and I hate to say it, but it’s good for them to move on from this spot.  Just tough when the other 3 District teams reside in the upper 15 spots of the Class 5A polls.

Ohio County Information

I looked at the KHSAA page on Ohio County information for this season and the most glaring thing that jumped out to me was Ohio County through 4 stats provided games has 2 offensive TDs on the season.  And this is playing McLean Co, Todd Co Central, Hancock Co and Muhlenberg Co.  What will happen when they face BG?  Goodness.

Bowling Green Information

The Purples have started the past 2 games and have really been sluggish getting out of the gate.  Against Apollo it was 7-0 at the end of the first quarter.  Against Central Hardin, it was 7-2 after the first quarter.

But the second quarter, the Purples have really hit the gas and scored 28 points each of the last 2 second quarters and really put the game out of reach.  I was especially pleased with the defensive effort after Central Hardin's opening drive to shut the Bruins down and get a lot of the young guys in who contributed as well.

Finally, want to spotlight the Star signal caller SR Deuce Bailey who just went over 100 TDs in his great Bowling Green Career.  Congratulations Deuce!

Game Preview

If memory serves me correctly, Ohio County asked for 8-minute quarters last game.  They very well could again and I probably agree.  Just don’t see how the BG Freshmen aren’t playing a lot of the second half of this game.  Purples warm up the dance floor walking over the Eagles.

OC 3 and out. To my knowledge OC doesn’t have a yard of offense from scrimmage yet.
Warder fields the punt and runs to the house.
