Lions coach selling his home over "Safety Concerns"

Recommended Posts

Turns out it was a friend of his daughter that leaked the information.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/I'd/41415886/report-lions-dan-campbell-doxxed-daughter-classmate

"...according to police reports obtained by the paper, multiple people showed up at the Campbells' residence in Bloomfield Township, Michigan, on the night of Jan. 28, hours after the Lions' loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game."

Everyday I lose a little more faith in humanity.

Campbell told Crain’s Detroit Business on Wednesday that he and his family “loved” the house but decided to move after fans found out where he lived.

This is why we can't have nice things.

But it's not hard to find out where people live in todays "access to information" age in the palm of your hand.

You can buy a house through an LLC or some other entity and name a lawyer or other person on the filing. It's easier to disappear than most assume, especially if you have the money to set it up correctly.

Right. In a position like that you'll never be able to hide. You're only one person away from your business being out there.

Even in a scenario like that, you're hoping literally nobody recognizes you or that someone who knows you let's it out.

Next to impossible.

True, I was talking more about the concerns about everything being readily available to search on public records and so forth.

To your end, someone can just toss an Apple tracker on his car and have the location in no time.

Relocating to an area not visible from the public streets would help with idiot protesters.

I've always felt the biggest cost of being famous is losing your anonymity.

I’m aware of all the ways to attempt to hide.  Also aware of all the ways to find those attempting to hide.  Not as easy as most think.
