Tranquility Base
So the county is again on the hook to make the Bengals richer? Thanks for the extra 1.3 billion. BTW, beer is now $5 more expensive and your cheese coney is now $10 instead of $6.
futurecoach
Looks great! Even though I wish they would build a retractable roof stadium this way it could be used year round and host possible Super Bowls and Final Fours.
nkypete
Just now, futurecoach said: Looks great! Even though I wish they would build a retractable roof stadium this way it could be used year round and host possible Super Bowls and Final Fours. I've always loved that idea. Unfortunately, I work in downtown Cincinnati and other than the Banks, Fountain Square and OTR, it's not very attractive to a huge crowd coming from the outside IMO. Lack of hotel rooms is the big thing. Convention Center needs to be overhauled. Restaurants are in spots rather than spread out. Right now there is a lot of construction going on building condos and the bridge project is on the horizon. I think the City of Cincinnati is trying to make plans, but I wonder what their capabilities are to execute on those plans. They currently have a contentious City Council. What are the future plans in the West End? Are they going to build a new arena there near TQL Stadium? For the Bengals and Paycor Stadium, I wonder what the final product will look like since what we just saw are renderings. Are they going to cut back to save money? The only way I see major events like Super Bowls and Finals Fours happening in Cincinnati is if it were decades down the line with a whole lot of improvements in the areas that I mentioned above. I'd be happy some day just seeing a NCAA basketball regional in a new modern 18K seat arena.
