se7ens Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 The Aces host rival Daviess County at Steele Stadium on the campus of Kentucky Wesleyan. This was a 50 - 0 blowout win for Owensboro Catholic last year behind the big arm of Brady Atwell. Atwell is already off to a great start and there isn't really a reason to believe Daviess will be able to counter that. After putting up 50 points on Apollo in week one, look for a repeat of that same offensive performance in week two against a Panther team that lost to Franklin-Simpson 31-13 in their season opener.

All I know is last week Garrison Barker went 0 for 7 on pass attempts and Remington Davis went 6 for 14 for 85 yards, 2 touchdowns and one interception. So I would expect Davis but that's not a known by any means.

The Aces held Apollo's quarterback to a 39% clip last week and picked him off twice, plus allowed just 33 yards on the ground. With Atwell at the helm, you know the offense will get most of the headlines, but that defense looks pretty darn tough. Whether it's Barker or Davis taking the snaps, Daviess is going to have its hands full.
