Conference Breakdown after first round on NCAA Tournament

Below is a breakdown of the 6 conferences that placed 4 or more into the tournament field:

Big 12-   5-3

SEC-      3-5

Big 10-   4-2

MW-       2-4

ACC-      4-1

Pac 12-  4-0

One thing that jumps out to me is the 2 conferences that had the most teams in the tournament Big 12 and SEC combined have lost more games (8) as the other 4 conferences have combined (7).

The Pac-12 improves to 5-0 in the tournament with Arizona's win over Dayton this afternoon 78-68.

Big 12 falls to 5-4 with the Kansas loss.

ACC- 8-1

The Big East should have brought at least one more team likely. The three teams that it did are good, I expected all of them in the Sweet Sixteen. The ACC is clearly the surprise, they did far more than anyone expected, including plenty ACC fans.

I really think that St. John's and Seaton Hall both deserved to be in the tourney in place of I thought Virginia and Boise State.
