The Rebels won the first match 82-55 and look to win 7 in a row.  Boyle is looking to stay in 2nd place in the district with a win.  Thoughts on the game?

Boyle is the better team but this is the time of the year when weird things can happen.  Good teams can go cold, weaker teams can get hot.  Earlier this week DCA was flat against Garrard and Garrard played hard and hit some three point shots so they stayed in the game well into the 4th quarter.  

The Boyle train keeps rollin'.  My guess Garrard plays hard.  They definitely view this game as a big rivalry.

They have all season. They are just very inexperienced and struggle to score. When their number two scorer got hurt, that made it even more difficult. I'm glad they haven't packed it in, though. Hopefully they'll put forth a good performance tonight. But as you said, it seems like Boyle is starting to round into shape after a bumpy first couple of months.

Is Boyle second in the district? Or did you mean tied for second? I don’t know how they’d be above Lincoln.

I think Boyle wins this one easily. The talent discrepancy is just too large for it to be a competitive game. I still maintain that Boyle and DCA are the two most talented teams in the region. Boyle is wildly inconsistent but talented. Their guards are such a matchup problem and Seneca Driver is long and a strong rebounder. 
 

I look forward to seeing how they fare in their last 4 games (after tonight) because, while they’ve been on a winning streak, that stretch has been the weakest stretch on their schedule. Those 4 games will challenge them.

• Garrard County at Boyle County (tonight)
• Lincoln County at Danville (tonight)
• DCA at Boyle County (February 13)

 

DCA is already the #1 seed. Boyle and Lincoln will be 2/3 in some form; the 3-seed has to play KSD but it doesn't matter who that is, Boyle and Lincoln will play in the semifinals. Danville and Garrard will play in the first round with the winner getting DCA in the semifinals. So it is all essentially locked in right now.
