In this situation the clock is the enemy. Why not pressure and make them use a little more time? Possibly foul before any shot. Bottom line..... players make plays, especially clutch FTs. These all world freshmen teams know how to play ( not defensively lol) but they have to learn how to WIN.

My heart says guard the 3 point line and don't give up a foul while a guy I shooting.  My head says just foul once they're across mid court.

I think this is why so many coaches choose not to foul. They know they will not lose the game in regulation if they don't foul.

Which makes some sense.  I'd say at that point, the coaches then need to consider how their team would looking, possibly going into overtime. Momentum, player fatigue, fouls etc.  As a UK fan, I did NOT feel good about Florida and UK going to overtime.
