Semifinals (02/17/2014): Campbell County had a 2-point lead coming out of the first quarter, and held on to their 2-point lead at half, with a score of 26-24 after the first two quarters of play. The Camels added 1 more point to their lead by the end of the third quarter, but Highlands came back in the fourth quarter to tie the game up 48-48 at the end of regulation time. Tayden Lorenzen's presence under the basket and his clutch shooting from the free throw line was much to thank for keeping the Birds in the game during the 4Q. Both teams scored 9 in the first overtime, and then Highlands pulled away with the lead in the second overtime, forcing Campbell County to turn to fouling to try to stay in it, late. Aslim20
To add to this is the tournament had an 8th grader from Campbell County, Austin Davie who averaged 20 points a game over the three games they played. Campbell County made it to the semi finals with 3 of their freshman starters being in the eighth grade losing in double overtime. Well played by younger boys.
