We are working like crazy to bring that back to Anderson. In 2024, we will play freshman/JV doubleheaders each Monday. We are in a conference w/ Henry County, Collins, and Spencer County. Our solution to not having enough freshman... you can add lower level sophomores until you reach the number 20 for the total freshman team.

We have recruit night on Friday, 2/19. As of right now, we have 19 incoming freshmen that are attending with their families.

Also, had a coach call me a few days talking about starting a freshman program. In a lifetime of HS football, if you have the numbers to do so, a separate freshman program has been the best way to develop players.  At Paris, it would have been really tough to do that. Mason, Mercer and Anderson...absolutely the route to go. In 2002, we only had 12 freshmen on the entire team. We played Scott County (shortened quarters). Went to Flatwoods to play the Red Devils... and won! Obviously that was tough, but really glad I had a guy like Henry Boone to coach that team and get so much done.

Coach Boone told me once..."As long as I had one guy standing next to me, I knew we didn't have more than 11 on the field." ?

2022 was froshmore under new staff.
2023 was freshman only.

Current freshman class is the largest they've had in a while so they were able to finally form a freshman team.  Current 8th grade class at TF is also fairly big, so they're putting in a full freshmen coaching staff for the first time in probably a decade.

I don't think any JCPS team has all freshman. Manual hasn't had all freshman for a while and even Male now fielding froshmore team last two years against St. X.

That surprises me.
