My wishes for an entertaining game were fulfilled. Excellent game between two top-20 teams.

Madison Central had a few chances inside the final minute, but couldn't get over the hump. Part of that was owed to SL hitting 6-6 FTs inside the final minute.

Duane Fields had 25 on 6-for-9 three-point shooting, but two of his misses came in the last 30 seconds. Keyshawn Simpson had 12.

Jordan Hammonds had 24 pts, 7 rbs and 5 ast, and Trey Smith went for 22 and 9 as both had big games while MC concentrated on Proffitt.

Rebounding (30-30) and turnovers (8-8) were even. SL hit 51 percent from the field to MC's 41, but MC's 9-21 on threes were big.

Teams have really been concentrating on Proffitt as of late.

I knew this would be a good game. Both sold ball culbs and both well coached.

Big win for South, first victory this year against a top 20 team.

Go Cards:dancingpa

He still ended up with 11 pts., 3 ast., but it was on a tough 4-10 shooting night. MC did a heckuva job on him with Fields face-guarding and chasing him most of the game.

This was a great game to watch. It had a region title game feel to it. Hey Schue, Knox girls and boys swept Corbin tonight.

Who woulda thunk it? Not me, that's for sure.

me either...man, the ol' fear 'les' forecast is going to be hard to do tommorrow.

Good win for the Cardinals tonight. Ty Proffit is the best all around player but I think a lot of teams are using his hype as reason to key on him on D. In my honest opinion and with all due respect to Ty, you must make Hammonds your focal point on D to beat the Cards. You for sure must respect Proffit and Smith but from the many games I've seen, Hammonds is their money man.

I agree about Hammonds he has unlimited range on the 3 pointers. Once other players knew Ty was for sure a D1 player going to a high profile school, they bring their D twice a hard to prove to themselves they can slow down a D1 player, when this happens IMO Ty needs to raise the bar and take it to them as well within the cardinal team concept. Good win for Coach Wright and South.

Did MC struggle from the free throw line in this one?

I know that has hurt them in some past games this season.

South gets a little payback for the earlier loss.

4-8, it really wasn't a huge problem. The game was pretty well-played by both teams, so it really came down to a few key possessions late.

If you concentrate on Jordan, Smith and Profit kill you. Pick your poison this is a three headed beast. I doubt that anybody in the 13th can beat this bunch now that Slusher is gone.

You are probley right about no team beating them in the 13th, stranger things happen at tournment time though. Even with the good team B'ville had last year who would have though they would have came within one more 3 pointer from going to rupp!
