greendevil
the coach is Zach Deaton... he was hired by Lickert and worked under him for a couple years.... real enthusiastic guy... Dayton will be fine without Lickert, nothing against Lickert, but what he did at Dayton was more than coaching, it was a mentality that he instilled in those boys that taught them they can play with anyone if they do things right, just because he left, doesn't mean that mentality left with him... That shows you what kind of coach Lickert is. He left that program better than he found it. As for the mentality your right he instilled a mentality in those players and now it is up to coach Deaton to keep it going. Since coach Deaton was an assistant under Lickert he shouldn't have any problem. Good Luck to the GreenDevils.:thumb:

There is a (sometimes not so) quiet heir of confidence around the Dayton football program concerning this season... they know what they can and are planning on doing, and they will tell you... That is great for those players to be confident. I wish them all the luck this year. I've heard they are returning alot of players. If they stay focused on their goals they will be hard to beat. NKY Speedster
Dayton should be pretty good this year with 11 seniors starting on defense with 1 junior and the offense being all seniors who are experienced and hungry for the season to begin

Beat the Beechies this is good advice... a lot of teams talk the big game... a lot of teams talk about being right there with the best, but soem teams are good "talkers" while some teams are good "players"... don't be the talkers... and get healthy... and execute every down... you can't take breaks... Beechwood won't, Bellevue won't, Ludlow won't, no one in the state will...
