Central Hardin's new coach will be Mike Lawson. He was the Marshall County head coach. He took the Marshals to the playoffs the last two years.

I wonder if Mike Lawson will run the spread offense at Central like he has at other places? Does Central have the players to make it work?

Lawson is a very good coach with a good, entertaining offensive scheme. Basically, it's the spread offense that can be tailored to fit his personnel ... he's also had some very good running backs.

 

I assume he learned the offense as an assistant at Lexington Catholic, then built good programs with it at Owensboro Catholic and Marshall County. In time, I expect Lawson will have Central Hardin competitive with the likes of North Hardin, Meade County and Nelson County.

 

It's an understandable move for Lawson ... it's close to home (he's a Meade graduate) and my guess is the job is worth a little more money.

I believe he learned the passing game at Lexington Catholic, where he was an assistant coach for a couple years, and then expanded on it.

Franklin's association with Owensboro Catholic started after Lawson left there ... their schemes use many of the same principles.
