I have a hard time seeing anyone with a tougher non-district schedule.

Central became one of the state's best jobs with the new six-class alignment. The material is there to be a top-flight state championship contender every year.

Yes and no. It will take outstanding leadership, results driven leadership, not just on the football level but throughout the school. I'm not making any judgements about the people who are currently in charge there, I don't know them one way or the other. But with as many positives Central has, they also have there fair share of negatives. I agree that Central could be built into the best program in the state, I don't think it is a job most people jump at. I think it is a job with a lot of potential, but far and away from an easy job.

 

One of the knocks on Central has historically been thier tendancy to "quit" when things stop going thier way. Playing such a tough schedule will require them break that stereotype, as there are sure to be some bumps in the road. I congratulate them on taking on such a challenge.

 

Personally I'm glad to see them back on Manual's schedule, we always had a tough time against them when I played. Also Central and Manual are very close in proximity, and many of the players had family or personal connections with Central so they tended to get up for the game.

I'm aware of all that, but I don't think that anyone doubts that in many years, Central will have just as much talent as (or more so than) any other program in the new 3A.
