Was my message confusing? In the first quarter, we played team ball, then in the second half, we didn't. And everybody knows who the problem is, and the coach allows this to go on.

The big kid from Pikeville has improved alot this year and Pikeville is much better than when I watched them last year. Pikeville forced too many bad shots in the 4th quarter when the game was close. Bailey and Kelly played well late in the game for Perry and I think experience was the difference. It probably also helped that Perry was playing on their home floor. Good game overall though.

You pretty much summed it up, my point all along. forced too many bad shots and yes, it "probably" helped that Perry was playing on their home floor.

I was surprised of the small crowd that Pikeville had. If they are going to get serious about basketball there they need to show better support..IMO

It was a game over an hour away, at 8:00, on a church/school night...

You should have watched the game then. 19-4 free throw difference in the first half alone...

 

If you have noticed the last few Commodore games, they have out shot everyone of their opponents from the free throw line. They shot 35 free throws to Knott's 9 and it was on Knott's floor, did they get homered at home? I don't think so. Same thing at Buckhorn last week, Perry didn't make them very well that night, but they still got to shoot them. Makes a big difference when you go inside every trip down the floor. You are going to get fouled all night and go to the line a lot. I don't appreciate the "WE GOT HOMERED" talk at all. There are out of region officials who could care less who wins these games. Mr. Ashurst is one of the top officials around high school and college basketball, he would not let that happen in his games. He is a class act. It's not their fault that all the 15th region teams are in the losers bracket, don't blame it on the host school. That is the way it goes sometimes. Deal with it! And i guess when Leslie beats Pikeville tonight, we will hear more excuses? Can't stand it when teams don't do the things they need to to win games, and their fans are so one sided they don't see that it was because of turnovers, stupid shots, missed free throws, etc. that they lost, they like to blame officials or anyone else they can find first! It is a little unusual when fans from Perry Central said the Panthers got took and it was obvious when Pikeville had a one point lead that your Mr. Ashurst made three rediculous calls that completely changed the game. Even called a double foul on the two big men for no reason at all. This guy is a joke as an official as a few years ago in the state tournament he made one of worst calls ever made in the sweet sixteen. Even WYMT people were talking about how these three officials did a poor job. Facts are facts. Go back and look at the tape of the game. It was obvious the little man was not going to let Pikeville have a shot at the end of the game. I am not from Pikeville but I did see the game and it was a very poorly officiated game.

Not confusing anymore. Obviously a disgruntled parent of a player...radio guys didn't mention selfishness or lack of team ball and they are pretty good at relating what goes on in the game...

Exactly. Thank you. Pretty obvious what was going on. Pikeville radio guys called out that guy by name also, and they rarely if ever complain while calling a game.

Sounds like a digruntled parent. Pikeville played well in this game and there are only a few of the young players that can take the ball to the basket right now. Clevenger and Harmon are two very fine sophomores and will get better each game. Honaker played well to just get back from his surgery. This is a good young team and when they get back to playing together like they did at the first of the year this team will do well in the tournaments. Yes, they do make a lot of unnecessary fouls and that is obvious but I don't see any unselfish play. This is one of the fastest improved teams in the 15th region.

Yeah the double foul was pretty stupid because the Brashear kid from PCC was in front of the other kid from Pikeville and had the ball and the kid from Pikeville was on top of his back riding him like a horse. Why the double foul, who knows? should of just been on the kid from Pikeville, but oh yeah I forgot, they were being homered so they just went ahead and called it on PCC too.

I didn't say it was one of the greatest officiated games, I just said those guys wouldn't cheat for anyone. They don't have a whole lot to chose from over their in the 13th. That is why no one likes to switch regions with them at the end of the year. One of the officials only blew his whistle one time for a foul the whole night, and it was a foul on PCC. They chart officials and I seen the chart. I can understand you being upset about how the game was officiated, but just because the officials do a bad job, don't take it out on a team because they are at home.

I heard Brian Milam actually apologized to Pikeville's coach about the ridiculousness of the way the game was called. Just what I heard.

That's funny! I guess he really had to apologize for last night too, for letting them get beat by a team that gave Prestonsburg their only win and are about last in our region. Maybe he was just trying to make him feel better or maybe he didn't even say anything at all. All here say.
