This scrimmage was suppose to start at 9am any updates?

No updates? 

Played about 30 minutes - delayed then cancelled due to storms. 

Pretty standard Boone and Holy Cross seemed to be on the field more than Ryle, all played about as expected for a first scrimmage very vanilla. All the teams played with good intensity. Just not enough time to see a lot really. Boone's numbers looked lower than the past couple of years and Holy Cross may have 20 players. Ryle players Kaden Gardner, Colemire, Verax Dickerson and Harden played well in limited action but again hard to tell in a small window. 

On the other end of the field the Boone JV played the Ryle freshman no Holy Cross team on that end so there was more to see. The first team Ryle freshman looked really good scoring several times and played strong defense. Boone JV picked it up as backups made it into the scrimmage for Ryle. Strange that Boone still can't field a freshman team. Ryle has 40 - 45 freshman out. 

Anyone confirm the big RB from HC was there, have been hearing he is now at Scott.

Boone County did have Freshman team for 2021.  I'm also seeing them on Highlands Freshman schedule posted in Highlands 2022 topic.  Possibly school starting soon will allow them to get more kids on field.

Did Ryle move the ball on the teams? 

Yes the Ryle offense moved the ball pretty well and were balanced in their attack. The Ryle offense should be pretty good this year they seem to be deeper at receiver which will help they had some drop issues last year. No QB runs by Ryle appeared they told him not to run there was plenty of space. 

They probably were only on the field for a couple maybe 3 drives with the rain and scored 2 out of 3 drives the 3rd they hit the play limit after getting a first down on the 9. 

Ryle’s Frosh were up 5 TD’s to 0 when the starters were pulled. They were playing w/out a couple key players too.

Nate Verax threw for 5 TD’s to 4 different receivers. He looked really sharp.

It was the freshman team. There were no sophomores on that end of the field for the Raiders.

Boone fielded a froshmore team and some NKY freshman teams still elected to play them and will do so again this year. Boone has had difficulty fielding freshman teams across multiple sports it's not a knock on the school just something they have struggled with. I think it's great they can do a froshmore team and find games for them it gets more kids involved and developed.

Lavarr Jones is no longer on the HC football team.
