Totally agree with everything you said. It's gotten ridiculous! Just my opinion, but sometimes i feel , we as adults, don't let kids be kids anymore. A lot of it.... IS parents!!! No reason for 10/12 year old's ,playing 100 games every spring/summer/fall. IMHO!!! ...lol!  I get where your coming from though.

No question it's the parents.

And going back to the original post, this is one area a parent needs to step up and talk to the coach.  Obviously every coach is different, but this would be one area (player's health) I would think (hope) a coach would be open to discussion at any time.

Not just the pitchers but how about the catchers.  I regret every day letting my kid catch as much as he did.  Due to injuries and a relatively small roster he caught 30+ high school games a season including some doubleheaders and that was 8th grade (JV/freshman) and 9th grade varsity with some JV.  Then summer ball of course.  His arm has never been the same.

I went to high school with a really good pitcher name Steve Ahlers, there were a couple of times he pitched on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  With all that said, he was, and still is, a beast of a man.

Played amateur ball against Steve. Great guy. He could throw it!!!
