Owensboro had an 8th grader invited to run the 100 at the Eastern Relays - Casey Combest's son, King.  He won his heat and ran 11.4.  He also ran the leadoff leg for O's 4x100 team who finished 2nd in state (to Male in another heat) and 7th overall (all 4 are football players, including Combest).  The kid won the adidas national 60m 8th grade in 7.16 seconds and has the fastest time on record of any 8th grader ever in 7.08.  The year before he set the national all-time record for a 7th grader.

If you don't know his pedigree, his dad Casey dominated the sprint scene in the 100, 200 in KY and still holds the fastest 60m time in USA high school history at 6.57.

 

Going to be many football players from different schools at this meet tomorrow. Will be some great performances tomorrow. Parking going to be nightmare as baseball, powerlifting, and tennis all playing at home tomorrow as well.
