The Chris Oliver hire has been announced by Georgetown. This is a great hire for the Tigers. Chris Oliver Hired by Georgetown 

Happy for Oliver but sad for LWC.  Coach Oliver was 8-4 against Georgetown losing his first 4 and winning the last 8 in a row.  I would think a pay raise and possibly being easier to get kids to come to Georgetown than Columbia.  No complaints about Columbia, but it's a pretty small town and Lex is just a hop away from Georgetown. 

So, what changes can we expect at Georgetown? Will the offense be drastically different? Will they change the defense? They have several talented freshmen who as sophomores should be able to compete at a high level.

Wide open offense, solid defense and very good special teams.  Honestly turnovers and big special teams play were Oliver trademarks.  Honestly, the biggest change might be in the type of football player Georgetown now recruits.  Taking a deeper dive in the South and smaller dive into the Lexington area and north.  Coach O teams were always competitive and he earned the kids respect really quick.  Hopefully Georgetown realizes what they have and treats him, his family and his staff lime the special people that they are.
