DevilMayCare Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 Station hoping a little more offense is in the "Cards" this time against GRC Records: Bryan Station (9-1), GRC (3-8) BGP Ranking: Bryan Station (#6 in 6A), GRC (unranked in 6A) Series History: Bryan Station leads 23-18-1 all-time Table Setter: The Defenders' nine game win streak is tied with top ranked Male for the longest in 6A this season. The biggest threat to this run was a surprisingly close shave against GRC in Week 8. Station had to rally in the final minutes to escape with a 9-7 victory. Some post game candor from Bryan Station head coach - and BGP's own - @coachhawk: "Not looking ahead, just did not play to their potential. GRC had a great game plan and controlled the clock. I was out coached. Simple" The man who allegedly did the superior job that night was first year GRC coach, Joe Chirico, someone who's no stranger to postseason success. He holds a career playoff record of 22-7 while at Paintsville, including last year's run to a state championship. His foray into the deep waters of 6A has been a baptism by fire with a young football team. The Cardinals have only won two games this season on the field. The loss to Station has been the high water mark so far. The Defenders have mostly hung their hat on defense this season. Only Male and Ryle have allowed fewer points in the big school class. Whether or not the offense improves upon its sub-par performance from the first meeting could be the difference between another nail biter and the more comfortable Station win that most would expect. 1
Tigerpride94 Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 I'll take Bryan Station since they have better defense.
