He was third going into Final Jeopardy, so I'm thinking he had an off night.

He had an off night, but the other two didn't miss but a handful of questions and the guy that won hit double Jeopardy back to back. That kept Matt from having a chance to double up and get back in the lead.

The guy that beat him, won the next day as well in a runaway.

Yes, my wife and I both felt she was different in this game. That said, she still had a huge lead going into the final, just not a runaway. On final Jeopardy she didn't write an answer down,  just "What is ?"

The guy that beat her did well but not spectacular.

I've probably caught about 80% of them the last couple of weeks.  Figures I didn't last night.
