He was third going into Final Jeopardy, so I'm thinking he had an off night.

He had an off night, but the other two didn't miss but a handful of questions and the guy that won hit double Jeopardy back to back. That kept Matt from having a chance to double up and get back in the lead.

The guy that beat him, won the next day as well in a runaway.

Current champion, Amy Schneider, has the 10th longest win streak in Jeopardy history. Averaging around $35,000 per victory. 

Won today, 4th highest regular show total winnings...over $450,000.

Current champ is at 15 games and over $600,000. She has only had one or two games that her opponents even had a chance to catch her in Final Jeopardy. 

26 games $950,000 and hasn't been close enough to lose on final Jeopardy in weeks.

Over $1,000,000 and very rarely has a close game.

Crazy that she's just barely half way to Jennings.

I didn't get to watch last night.  Her demeanor seem different to make you feel that way?

Yes, my wife and I both felt she was different in this game. That said, she still had a huge lead going into the final, just not a runaway. On final Jeopardy she didn't write an answer down,  just "What is ?"

The guy that beat her did well but not spectacular.

I've probably caught about 80% of them the last couple of weeks.  Figures I didn't last night.
