Who all would agree to this?

 

The first four could make the list, but I would have to put a couple of Bell Co. players(Whitaker & Zachary)and around 4-5 Corbin players(Johnson, Smith, Manns, Wilson & L. Crawford)along with Strange at Pineville before Prewitt. Prewitt is a fine player, but there are 2-3 Whitley players who may be more advanced at this time as well.

I dont think I can agree with you on that one 4chs..Its two different kinds of play for these kids from Bell and Corbin then it is for a kid playing at Whitley County. All of the kids that you named above are great players with tons of potential but Prewitt doesnt have a ''Green Light'' to do whatever he wants to with the ball like Whitaker or Zachary or any of the kids from corbin. If you go by stats these kids would knock Prewitt or Lebanion out of the list but by skill I will have to disagree with you.

How can you not put Crawford from Whitley County on the list? He has had several great games this year and is averaging double figures.

 

Shawn Harris is an 8th grader who is playing pretty well too for the Colonels.

Why hasn't Zach Lewis (Soph) from Clay made any lists? IMO he's a better all around player than many that's been mentioned.

Apex..Crawford is a great player but he is not at a level yet to compete with a lot of Varsity Post players from around the region. I mean for example look at Josh Crawford from Corbin you honestly think that Michael could hang with Josh for four quarters in a basketball game..Thats why I didnt put him on the list. As for Harris he has a long, long way to go in my book.

I would have to agree with several of the names mentioned in this posting... I like Strange from Pineville, and Lewis from Clay, but feel that the most overlooked "underclassman" not mentioned would have to be Caldwell from Cawood. I saw him play against Crawford from Corbin and Johnson from Cumberland. He outscored both of em and no one was even close to handling him in the post. I also think that Miller from Knox could end up being the best in the bunch... but that's my 2 cents...

I agree. I saw him play against South Laurel this year and he played very hard and solid showing poise against their big 2-3 zone. He can really shoot the mid-range jumper on the move. He's also the Quarterback of the Football team to, correct me if I'm wrong.

Lewis needs to be on any list of best underclassmen in the 13th and Clay may have a couple of more as well. I just forgot about him myself.

I think Desmond Johnson from Cumberland is a very talented ball player. I don't think he is at the level with someone like Josh Crawford (Corbin), though. Johnson's game lacks physicality. I think he can get a tad lethargic at times as well. He has the potential to become a force in the paint, but it will remain potential until he shows he can be physical.

Anyone but SRs are underclassmen, I could be wrong but thats the way I always thought of it.

 

underclassman - a student in the freshman or sophomore class at a secondary school or college. Also called lowerclassman.
