Former district mates meet in CKY heavyweight scrap

Series History: Scott County leads 24-7 all-time 

Table Setter: Gone are the days of the Cardinals and Defenders competing for district championships and playoff seeding, but it's nice to see this game still on the schedule. Scott County is still a very relevant name across the state, and Bryan Station has seen a resurgence in its football program since the beginning of last season. 

Jim McKee's squad has had a week off since the blowout win over Lafayette, which was preceded by the shellacking they suffered at the hands of Franklin County. The level of opposition certainly had something to do with it, but freshman quarterback Andrew Hickey raised his level considerably between starts one and two, and the running game against Lafayette looked more like what we're accustomed to seeing from SC's wing-t. 

Station also comes in off a bye week after splitting its first two games with Douglass and Mercer County. At this juncture, defense looks like the strength of Coach Hawkins' team. The offense, which has playmakers, needs to up its game this week. Running back Joseph Bond is one to watch. He topped a hundred yards against Mercer and did the same against Scott County last year. Bond was Station's biggest offensive weapon in last season's 7-6 Cardinals win.

 

Seems like Station starts slow on offense, and that is a pace that falls within Scott Co.'s comfort zone. That wing-t doesn't need to warm up.

 

I think it's a one score margin at the final buzzer though. If I had seen some consistency w/ the Defender offense, maybe I wouldn't pick against them. 

Maybe they surprise us.

I'll take Bryan Station in a competitive game.

I like Station in this one. I think the game last year will give them confidence in this one. I like how hard they play they kept coming at Douglass no matter what happened.
