He had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I enjoyed watching his teams. RIP!
August 8, 20215 yr Bobby was 91 but it still feels too soon. He was a phenomenal coach but, as the tributes will attest, he was probably an even better man. They simply do not make them like Bobby often, if ever. RIP Coach, and Go Noles.
August 9, 20215 yr Never was an FSU fan, but in the 80s and 90s, his teams were exciting to watch, RIP coach.
August 10, 20215 yr I was listening to Cubelic and McElroy and they had numerous callers and guests on to remember Coach Bowden. What I found most impressive was how so few actually spoke of Coach Bowden's on field accomplishments but instead focused on how great of a man he was off the field and how he truly lived by his motto "faith, family, and football". That is something a lot of coaches say but fail to follow. RIP Coach.
