It's gotta be tough to end your season like that when you know you're capable of so much more. A healthy Tucker is certainly a favorite in this event next year.

• Wyatt Stewart (Madison Central '23) set the all-class Kentucky record* with a 16'-1" effort in the Pole Vault. Congrats Wyatt!

Stewart passed on seven heights before starting his day at 14'-6". He cleared the new record height on his first attempt. Stewart then took aim at breaking his PR, but missed all three attempts at 16'-8.75".

The Madison Central sophomore is currently the US No. 2 ranked vaulter in the 2023 class. His 16'-7" effort earlier this spring ranks No.14 in the nation.

* [Chip Heuser's (St. Xavier) all-class record of 16'-0" had stood since 2003.]

The oldest Class AAA records on the books date back to 1985. Both are also Kentucky all-class records. 

Long Jump - 24'-0.5" William White, Shelby Co.

4x400m Relay - 3:16.78 Eastern (Victor Shacklette, Chris Taylor, Troy Dickey, Joey Taylor)

ICYMI ~ At the girls meet, some of the state's better basketball players were scoring points on the track too. Among them:

Amiya Jenkins - Anderson Co.

Wanda Stevenson and Destiny Jones - Central

Josie Gilvin and Trinity Ralston - Sacred Heart

Sophie Galloway - Marshall Co.

🥇 In the Shot Put, Manual's Malachi Lawrence  became just the eighth 60'+ performer ever, in any classification, in State Championship meet history. The Crimsons senior also earned four points with his  5th place PR 148'-9" in the Discus Throw.

* Congratulations Malachi! *

This fall keep an eye out for the "2020 All BluegrassPreps.com" Defensive End playing at the University of Central Florida.

Class AAA Shot Put State meet - 60'+ all-time ~

1. Bryan Hudson (Scott Co. '19), 63'-9.5" - 2018

2. Joe Tronzo (St. Xavier '05), 63'-4.5" - 2005

3. Malachi Lawrence (Manual '21), 61'-6" - 2021, • KY #1 and US #28 performance in the SP for the season.

Great young man! He was at most of the meets we hosted and I’m glad to see him get a PR at state. Good luck to him at UCF!
