rudedogky
Any stats on the game? How did Romans do for Powell? Totals: 23-48 17-23 70. POWELL COUNTY (4-4) David Johnson 0-2 2-2 2, Josh Pelfrey 1-6 0-0 3, Danny Dennis 0-5 2-2 2, Ryan Romans 8-12 1-5 17, Chris Adams 3-5 3-4 9, Daniel Kinser 1-4 1-2 3, Jeremy Banks 3-5 3-4 9, Alan Martin 2-5 3-5 7, Christian Brewer 0-2 0-0 0, Matt Sebey 2-3 0-1 4, Chase Freil 0-0 0-0 0, Jon Skidmore 2-7 0-2 6, Janson Merriman 0-0 0-0 0. Totals: 22-56 15-27 62. Cumberland 14 19 22 15 - 70 Powell County 16 12 17 17 - 62 3-point goals: Cumberland 7-12 (Simpson 6-9, Washington 1-1, Leisge 0-1, Creech 0-1), Powell County 3-20 (Skidmore 2-5, Pelfrey 1-5, Johnson 0-1, Kinser 0-1, Merriman 0-1, Brewer 0-2, Dennis 0-5). Fouled out: Cumberland (Johnson, Washington), Powell County (Pelfrey). Cumberland was hampered with foul trouble, but the bench stepped up and Simpson's sharpshooting and Leisge's ability to get to the hole or pitch it out to Simpson carried them to the win.Romans is very physical and I can see how he affects this team's play.Powell has a good team. HDE
Leisge, Hogue and Johnson are juniors, plus a power forward from North Carolina will be eligible next year for his senior season. Creech, Blanton and Polson are sophomores. Cumberland should be among the regional favorites again next year.

The Professor
This is an impressive win for Cumberland. Powell County has been playing great basketball lately, especially since they got Romans back. It's unfortunate that Harlan County High School won't be opened until 2008-09 season. With what Cumberland has coming back next year, and the addition of the players from Cawood and Evarts, the Black Bears would be loaded.

Yea,but I think that the current freshman and sophomore classes are pretty good too.The thing lacking in them groups is a 6'5 big man.
HDE
Josh Caldwell (6-4 or 6-5) is a sophomore at Cawood. Brandon McCoun is a 6-4 freshman.

I keep forgetting about Josh only being a sophomore.I've seen Brandon play a lot and he is still more of the forward or even guard spot. He's tall and skinny. rudedogky
I heard that the other boy from NC would be eligible after Christmas? What's his name and how big is he? Nope.He has to sit out.His name is Garfield Wilson. He's around 6'4 or 6'5.If you have seen Junior Center Desmond Johnson just picture his height, but is a lot more muscular.
