Newport showed some serious speed in Mychel Martin and Mychel King in the open field.  Defensively I liked Newport's ability to get stops in the 2nd half.  They may just be better than what people thought.

    Newport showed last night it has weapons and several of them.  I feel they are just scratching the surface of what they can do.  I really feel this is a team that as the season progresses will show some massive improvement.

    Jr. Ethan Jefferson 59 pass yards, 30 rush yards, 1 TD, 1INT on defense.

    Sr. Daniel Veselka 94 pass yards 1 TD.
