Bengals and Joe Mixon agree to an extension.

Bengals and Mixon agreed to a four year 48 million dollar extension. 

I know there is a lot of debate on rather a team should pay a running back. I would have liked to have signed him for 10 million a year. However, I still like this deal. Unlike other running backs who went down hill after they got their big deal. I don’t think we have seen the best of Mixon yet. 

If the Bengals finally decide to use his ability as a receiver this year too, then this deal looks even better. 

The energy he brings to this team, and how hard he plays. Does fit right in with the culture Coach Taylor is trying to build. So I do think it would have been hard not to extend him. Let’s just hope his best is still coming, and they use him correctly.

Additionally I believe Mixon is in the best shape of his life.

And I am with you fc, I am apprehensive when it comes to RB contracts but I like this deal for the Bengals.

Had to get done. I’m guessing it’s pretty front loaded to better utilize Burrows rookie deal. Mixons best days are ahead of him so I’m very happy about this deal.

This is good to see. While he wasn't in a full-fledged angry holdout it was also well known he wasn't playing a snap week one without a new deal.
