Soooooooo, how do Paintsville and Johnson Central feel about scrambling to schedule a football game against each other in 2 days, now that Crittenden County cancelled on Paintsville?

If they look at Saturday as a possibility, that's 3 days. Is that realistic? Is that safe?

They quit playing over a decade ago, in part because it wasn't safe (Johnson Central had moved head and shoulders above Paintsville). I'd be floored if these two played any time soon, even though Paintsville has become a top-tier program once again.

The game that makes the most sense as a last minute add is Paintsville vs. Lawrence County.

Lawrence desperately needs a game, it is just up the road, most likely Lawrence won't care much about the potential RPI implications as they are not expected to win their District anyway, and it would be a more competitive game than Paintsville vs. Johnson Central. They actually played Week 1 last year.. not sure if they were on the schedule for then this season as well before the season was pushed back.

I was just told that Lawrence will not be playing Paintsville.

That sounds right. Lawrence County was the team that cancelled the game for next week with Pikeville. Doesn't make any sense that Lawrence County would be picking up another game any sooner.
