December 12, 200619 yr I've read about this OS-Marion team. It's a pretty crazy situation actually. They do not belong to the NCAA and their coach, who is also the AD, is a reserve guard for the team. He's 44 years old, but still has two years of eligibility left so he plays for them. Sounds like a pretty good guy, says he has no problem with teams running up the score, but it sounds like it is kind of getting out of hand. Don't know why a team like G-Town would be playing them... This is from the Ohio State-Marion website: Ohio State Marion Scarlet Wave Athletics Ohio State Marion competes in the Ohio Regional Campus Conference. The Marion campus provides intercollegiate athletic opportunities for students to participate in golf, men's basketball, soccer, women's basketball, women's volleyball, and cheerleading. Our athletic programs compete annually against universities such as Clark State, University of Akron regional campuses, Kent State regional campuses, University of Findlay and OSU sister campuses in Lima, Mansfield & Newark.

I think they recruit from the local church and independent leagues!
December 12, 200619 yr Lima is a joke as well, when I played @ Cumberland, they had a centerfielder that was about 40 years old. I think they recruit from the local church and independent leagues! I'm guessing its anybody enrolled at the college. Sort of like if EKU-Danville or EKU-Manchester fielded a team. If they did field teams, I would have suited up!
December 16, 200619 yr From my understanding is Tyler Jones has quit the team at Georgtown. Can anyone confirm this???
