Ashland vs. Boyd County updates

Both of these teams are wanting to get out and run, Ashland leads 13-9 with 5 minutes left in the first.

20-16 Ashland at the end of the first. Boyd is doing what they need to do in attacking the basket. If they continue that and slow the speed of the game down a bit this should be a really close game.

Ashland leads 28-25 with three minutes left in the half.

Boyd County has a good team. I looked at their schedule and 4 of their 6 losses were in a tournament in Las Vegas. They lost by about 10 to Warren Central and Butler in the AIT.

 

Ashland is going to have to do a better job on the defensive boards. Boyd is getting quite a few second and third chances off missed shots.

After a double technical it appears the refs are gonna call this one really close the rest of the way.

Game seems to be on hold as police are dealing with an incident after someone was removed from the gym.

There’s been a lot of slipping and sliding all night. TV guys said too much condensation on the floor. I suppose caused by the huge crowd and the warm conditions outside.

I'm not sure what the deal with the floor is, I know it was recently refinished/polyurethaned. So condensation does make sense, but the Russell game was standing room only last night and I didnt notice the slips.

According to the media this one will resume tomorrow at 2pm, with 1:04 left in the third. Ashland will lead 49-31 when the game resumes.

I guess that gives Boyd County coaches about 17 hours to come up with a game plan.
