Final congratulations to Douglass and to Owensboro as well they have an excellent team.

Class by Douglass recovered a fumble on the Owensboro 5 yard line with1:30 to play and just ran out the clock.

Sounded like it was a great game.

FD great team. Ohs great team. Athletes vs. athletes. Neal best player on field. He is what Owsley is to OHS. Great run defense by FD. FD has a couple big plays negated by holding and block in back. OHS moves ball well but 4 TO’s including a poorly thrown pick 6. Neal set the tone but I was very proud if Owensbiro defense gave up 14 of the 28. I look for FD to win it all very athletic! OHS bright future. Gough back Tinsley back, Wimsatt only a sophomore with a gun. Millay great o lineman 6-5 275. OHS will be knocking in door next year. Good luck FD in final.

Well they ran 2 plays that were stopped short and then didn’t run the 3rd.

Total yards:

FD 178

Owensboro 222

Wimsat 169 yards passing and 2 TD’s and 2 Int’s.

Hayden 62 yards and a TD.

Tinsley 59 yards and a score.

FD 143 yards rushing. Neal 72 yards rushing and 1 TD. Punt return TD. Key 1 receiving TD. Bybee 2 Int’s with 1 being a TD. FD only 35 yards passing.

FD limited to 6 total first downs as Owensboro defense only gives up 14 of the 28.

One step away from the goal. Congrats FD.

Douglass Stats per KHSAA web site:

Total Yards:

Douglass 214 (177 rushing 37 passing)

Owensboro 213 (43 rushing 170 passing)

Devin Neal 5 rushes for 100 yards He also had 7 tackles on defense with 2 TFL. Also had a 65 yard punt return for a touchdown.

Jaylin Bybee also had 2 interceptions one returned for a touchdown.

Besides the two INT. the Douglass defense also had 8 tackles for loss for the game and 1 fumble recovery as well.

The stats I had were Owensboro paper which probably came from OHS. I think Neal had a 28 yard run that a face mask was called on Owensboro and probably was missed in stats as it was tacked on. That equals about 100 for Neal. Pretty even. I don’t have TFL for OHS they are bad about putting the last games stats on. I would like to see TFL and sacks. OHS didn’t give up a sack.
