Forecast for Friday's games (11/29/19)

Featured Replies

Rain is in the forecast for this Friday's games. The shower activity will be off and on all evening. Some may not even see any rain until after the games are over. The following maps are from 4 pm to 10 pm EST.

The temperatures look to start off Friday evening in the low to mid-40s over parts of the state south of I-64. While north of I-64 they will range from the high 30s to low 40s. They will fall to the high 30s to low 40s for south of the I-64 corridor. North of that point look for temps to be in the mid-30s.

Using the same dividing line as above look for the wind chills to fall to around the low to mid-30s south. Then north of I-64, they will be from the high 20s to low 30s by around 10 pm EST.

The rain will be scattered and light for the most part. With light accumulations, until around 10 pm EST, the heaver showers look to move in late Friday night in Saturday morning and last for most of the weekend.

Accumulation amounts will range from a trace to around 2 tenths of an inch. Just enough to make it uncomfortable for some.

Check back for updates as we get closer to Friday.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Hope you enjoy the day.

Here is the latest forecast for Friday's games. Rain is still in the forecast but for the moment it appears that the temperatures are going to moderate some. They actually will rise a little as the warm moist air mass moves into Kentucky from the southwest. Most of the state will see temps from the low 40s and some may see them rise into the mid-40s by the time most games are ending. All of the following maps cover the 4-10 pm time period.

This is the NAM Ohio Valley temperature map and it shows the temps rising for some as Friday evening progresses.

The Relative Humidity map shows the warmer moist air moving into western Kentucky.

As this air mass moves in scattered rain will break out mainly in western Kentucky. The precipitation activity will spread and progress eastward but will remain west of I-75 to around the end of the time period I'm using.

The 24-hour rain accumulations map ending at 10 pm EST shows, for now, will be light. From about a trace to 3 tenths of an inch is possible.

Enjoy the rest of your Thanksgiving and I will post an update in the morning. I don't think I'll be able to this evening. The grandkids are in town and I won't have much access to my laptop later today! :D

Thank you for doing this, very helpful.

Well, Thanksgiving is over and I've finally got access back to my laptop. :thumb:

Now for tonight's forecast. Chances for scattered showers and rain increases as the evening goes along. This forecast will cover the 4-10 pm EST time period. Temperatures will rain mostly steady and will be at the start of the period in the mid-40s for most of the state of Kentucky. Northern Kentucky's temperatures will be in the high 30s. They will only fall slightly as the evening progresses. Those mainly west of I-75 will see their temps fall only to the low 40s. While east of that point will see their temperature in the high 30s range. The wind chills will be negligible.

Precipitation looks to be scattered and light as the evening starts but will increase in intensity and coverage by the end of the time period. The 24-hour accumulation amount totals ending at 10 pm EST will range from a trace to about 4 tenths of an inch.

I will try and post an update around midday. Enjoy the rest of your Friday.

No real change from this morning's forecast. Those in western Kentucky could see some thunderstorm activity late tonight. This activity should hold off until after the games.

Good luck to all the teams tonight.
