The 8th grade game last night was one of the better Middle School games I have seen. 2 very talented, well coached teams. I hear great things about Ockerman and am looking forward to how these 2 match up with them.

Ockerman 6th, 7th and 8th grade over Ballyshannon by significant margins in all three games.

Highlands at Campbell County

6th - CC by 15

7th - CC by 2 (made shot at final buzzer to give them their first and only lead of the game)

8th - Highlands by 3 (CC just missed 3 pointer at final buzzer that would have tied it at end of regulation)

Is the injured Highlands player back? I saw he was in a boot a week or so ago.

It sounds like the 8th grade boys this year has a lot of parity.

Carson Class is back. He played very well against Campbell County.

Ockerman 6th, 7th and 8th over very good IHM teams. 8th grade was down 17 in the 3rd fought back for a close victory.

Camp Ernst at Grant County

7th - Camp Ernst by 6 or 7 in hard fought game.

8th - Camp Ernst by a lot. Grant's 8th was led in scoring by one of the 7th grader's playing up.

Ockerman 6th and 7th lose close games to Gray while 8th grade Ockerman wins.

Campbell County at Turkey Foot

6th - Campbell County by 17

7th - Campbell County by 20

8th - Campbell County by 2 (after leading nearly the whole game, got basket with one second left to avoid OT)

Ockerman at Camp Ernst

8th grade Camp Ernst win 26 - 25. Ockerman was at the line with no time left shooting 2 for the tie. They hit the first and after a timeout missed the second. Crazy finish. There was a lot of talent in this game.

From what I have seen this year in 8th grade, it is wide open. Lots of very good capable teams with no clear favorite. Any of St. Pius, Ockerman, Camp Ernst, Woodland, Highlands (now that they are getting healthy), IHM, and others (sorry if I am missing anyone) have a legit shot at the Region. Should make for a very exciting tournament.

St Pius at Gray

6th Gray won big

7th Gray won a close one

8th St Pius won big

Grant has moved 6 players up from the 8th grade team to play Freshman and JV. Gonna be a long year for the boys left playing.
