Do you think Pikeville is beatable for anyone in 1A?

Featured Replies

Pikeville seems to be shaping up in playoff form. They dismantled them #2 Hazard 42-0 on there home field. They have beat every power on the east side of the bracket except Williamsburg. They hold two road wins and a home win over Paintsville, Raceland and Hazard. Can anyone challenge them? Who and Why?

Imo no, I can't see anyone taking the title away from them this year. They're on par with some of the top 3A teams imo.

Raceland and Paintsville were thiiiiis close (imagine my thumb and index finger half a centimeter apart) to beating them a few weeks ago, and Raceland's QB situation was a mess at the time.

Pikeville's ceiling might be a little higher than anyone else's in 1A, but those scores give me pause about just handing them the big trophy right now.

I don't think anyone in the west can beat them. Paintsville and Raceland have already shown they can play with Pikeville. All it takes is a turnover or two.

Pikeville has a second gear they seemingly can hit when needed.

I thought when they played Paintsville and Raceland they kept their gameplan very close to the vest and conservative. Maybe it was because they knew they may see either of those teams again in a much more pivotal game?

When Pikeville has locked in that second gear and opened up their Offense they have looked unbeatable (see Hazard, Belfry, and Mingo Central).
