Mike Deaton will square off against his former employer when Corbin travels to Whitley to face Coach Deaton and the Colonels Friday. Both teams are very young with six of the first nine in Corbin's rotation being freshman and sophomores with Whitley being just as young or younger. If Josh Crawford can go for the Hounds I see Corbin winning big, and if not, then a much closer Corbin win.

Corbin 78 - Whitley Co. 54

If Crawford does not play,

Whitley 76

Corbin 70

With Crawford

Corbin 78

Whitey 65 after a tough 3 quarters

Corbin wins by 30 with Crawford and 20 without him.

Hounds win big, 82-50

Why wouldnt Josh play?

Hounds - 77

Colonels - 52

Apparently Josh banged his knee up a little a week or so ago and although it doesn't seem serious, he's been taking it easy.

With that said, I am a huge fan of Mike Deaton, love the man to death, and wish him nothing but the best. In due time he'll have the Colonels playing some dang good ball but it's still about 3 years away. He'll give Corbin and South fits without question. This year, Corbin will be a little too much for them.

Corbin 76

Whitley 49

Corbin 74-57.

Hounds 85 whitley 59

Crawford will be playing...it's just inflammation of the knee.

Corbin BIG 84-50

Everyone remember this game is at 6:00 PM tonight because of that Title 9 nonsense.

I wouldn't call it nonsense. Hey, the girls should get some prime time games as well.

Corbin wins by 30 with Crawford and 20 without him.

Yep, couldn't have said it better!

Them Hounds played really well in the second half and won by over 50 points. Maybe the future is not as bright as I once thought for the Colonels. I knew the Corbin young ones were talented but not as talented as they appeared tonight. Keep your heads up Colonels there will be some brighter days ahead. Whitley concentrated all their defense on Josh Crawford and he dished the ball to others tonight. I bet he had 10 assists to go along with about 15 rebounds in about 2 and a half quarters of basketball. If Corbin continues to share the basketball like they did tonight they will be very competitive in the 13th. Whitley hits the road and plays Jenkins tomorrow in Letcher County. Best of luck to the boys in red and black. Bring back a win to Lawson gym tomorrow.
