Raceland Football 2006- "a look back"

They fell short of the final destiny in winning a State Title but these kids are TRUE winners in my book.

Hats off to Coach Hoof and all the assistant coaches in teaching these young men more than just football. Hoof is a fine Christian man and leads by example and is a great role model for the players to follow.

Great job Rams, you have my RESPECT:thumb:

:thumb: :thumb: Especially on Coach Vanderhoof and all of the staff. Imo one of the best total coaching staffs in the state.

Is anyone for Raceland going on to play college football? Has anyone got any offers or anything?

I have heard of several of the seniors getting multiple looks/letters/ interest shown. Nothing definate that I have heard of yet.

Raceland had an outstanding year .... I was at the Ashland game , atmosphere was electric for a small school to play so very well against a larger neighbor ...

Everyone in Greenup Co is proud of this program , which always competes.

Coaching staff at Raceland provides real leadership for this community...

Ps ... How can Raceland not be on cloud nine for performance on the field this year and Aaron Pettrey every saturday from " Raceland Kentucky " ..

This shows what can come out of every level of play ....

Where does Aaron Pettrey go to college ?

You ever hear of a little college up north by the name of Ohio State. He's there place kicker. You could've seen him in action on most Saturday afternoons on national television. All of Ram Land is very proud of Aaron. He still holds the Ky. state record for the longest field goal. At least i don't think anybody broke it this season. I think he also has the record for pass completion percentage.

Thanks RDMVP06, :thumb: Coming from a fan of another traditional power in our area and state wide your comment was a great compliment.

As almost always there is some very good talent just waiting their turn to step it up and play Ram Pride football. All this is do to the support our kids gets from JFL all the way to varsity. It comes from the coaches at alll levels, the fan base, the students and most of all the parents. They start playing day one as a Ram and this is what makes Raceland football what it is.

:thumb: Another great post - Actually besides the always great JFL program that Raceland has I think this "Ram Pride" may start in the real little guys flag football league. (or before, when you see orange and black diapers on babies  along with "lil' Ram" newborn sleepers and baby blankets they are born into it down here.):D

They should be pretty good next year. As almost always there is some very good talent just waiting their turn to step it up and play Ram Pride football. Yeah Ive heard of it . My brother is a tenured professor there and has season tickets to the football and basketball games ,we use them somewhat:thumb: although he sold his Michigan tickets to get enough money to remodel his kitchen . The question was put tounge-in-cheek .

That's cool. a lot of peple have never even heard of a little ol' town in NEKY called Raceland. When my son's track team won state several years ago people kept asking, WHO, WHERE.

:thumb: Great post REDDEVILMVP'06!! We are proud of this years Raceland TEAM and they will be remembered for many years to come. I have been associated with Ram (and Rambler) football since the 60's and this years team is one of the best ever. You are right about the coaching staff. Coach Hoof and his assistants lead by example and teach not only football , they teach about life's lessons. We are lucky to have such a fine group of coaches on our staff.

Aaron Pettrey should run for Mayor!!! He is on the minds of everyone in the community and we are proud of not only his accomplishments on the football field but we are proud of the character and class he brings to our program and community. That is a reflection of him, his high school coaches and his great Family background. I am a firm believer that good things happen to good people and Aaron is a prime example. I wish him the best.

Aslo good luck to your Devils as I know they will be the State Champions for the 2nd year in a row!!! You guys have a class program.

:thumb: I think that your brother should had held out for more though, he probably could have gotten enough out of those tickets to remodel the entire house! LOL.
