Nice to see CovCath avenge a loss from last year.

CovCath was no doubt the better team however Winton Woods stuck around most of the game, but could never quite getting over the hump due to the Colonels' relentless never letting up effort.

 

The Colonels were up by 8 after 1, 6 after 2, 8 after 3, and finally winning by 12. WW on a couple of occasions managed to cut it to 4 but The Colonels would immediately erase their hopes, and extend the lead once more.

 

If I haven't enough sang the praises of him in the past, Diskin was the DEAL tonight. Any hype surrounding him is all true as the kid just plays like the ever ready bunny on steroids with a ton of spunk. He did it all tonight running the show, with numerous steals, and his 3's were on. I lost count, but he must've connected on about 6 of them. This is good news for the Colonels for him to be finding his shot.

 

Everyone contributed Green, Thelen, Fleek, Moser etc...and along with their focused diligent play they are blessed with a ton of trees that make such a world of difference for them.

 

It was a mediocre crowd with not much of a student body, but still a very entertaining game nonetheless.

 

I completely expect Friday night with Cooper to be a whole different story with a sell out.

Winton Woods is a solid opponent, and provide a different style than you typically find south of the river, so kudos to CovCath for playing them every year.

 

I agree with you B-Ball-Fan, I think you'll see a very large (and passionate) crowd on Friday night.
