January 4, 20197 yr It's tough on the road in conference but the Norse gave this one away. NKU was up 10 with about 10 minutes left and let it slip away. Good offensive night but the defense failed them--gave up too many threes in the second half (they are great on 3-pt% defense and allowed 11-26) and broke down several times on OB under the basket which can't happen. Missed several easy shots during Oakland's big second half run. Drew only made 1 of 2 FT with about a minute left which would have tied it. Robinson had a wide open three (so open he dribbled once to gather himself and still had no one around) on the second to last possession. The last possession, without calling time out with 10 seconds left, had Walton shooting a long three that was an air ball.
January 4, 20197 yr Author Have to give credit to Oakland's Xavier Hill-Mais who finished with 32 on 11-16 shooting, 4-5 on threes, and 6-8 FT.
January 5, 20197 yr This one stings for sure. I agree, I was discussing several topics over dinner with a friend and the Oakland loss made the agenda.
January 5, 20197 yr The conference is a hard one to figure out and playing on the road is never easy.
