It is the part of the season where byes affect everyone. In a 16 team league, there’s not a lot of depth, so it’s no big deal to give a spot to get the defense you want to cover your bye week or to give yourself a second option on defense to exploit a good matchup. Most defenses can out score whatever scraps are left on the waiver wire at this point in the season.
