November 5, 20187 yr Michigan has improved a ton since the beginning of the season, ND has as well. No clue what would happen if they played again, but we may end up getting to find out. I personally think Michigan would win, but I don’t base that on anything other than my own bias. :idunno:

Either way, Michigan is clearly the class of the BIG and a good team.
November 5, 20187 yr Based on how they are playing right now I would have to put Michigan ahead of ND right now despite the head to head win. Michigan clearly is not the same team as they are week 1. Penn State is not that bad of a team. This win tells me more about Michigan than it does Penn State. Can you tell me why Penn State is "not that bad of a team"? Do they have a win vs someone with a winning record? Is it narrowly escaping App State? Playing it close with below average Indiana? Barely losing to offensively challenged MSU? I think they beat Iowa.. Boom!

November 5, 20187 yr Boom? :lol2: :lol2: So what makes Penn State "not that bad of a team"? What does that even mean, is it good? I just want to know what not that bad means and why it is a barometer to Michigan. Thanks!

It was like you were saying, “gotcha” when in reality you didn’t get me. I think Penn State is a top 25 team. At this point every team from 15-25 can basically be drawn out of a hat with no real distinction. It’s not like I was saying Penn State is a great team, I just think Penn State is pretty decent and Michigan handled them. I’ll put it this way, Penn State is the best team Michigan has played since Notre Dame. I was very impressed with the outcome of this game. It takes a lot for me to give Michigan a compliment. Usually if they beat someone I try to downplay the opponent, not this time.

Not to split hairs, but I seem to recall you calling Penn State either a great or elite team in the Penn State/OSU game thread....:idunno:
November 5, 20187 yr Is the Michigan-Ohio State game in the Big House or the Shoe? That could make a difference in the outcome.
November 5, 20187 yr I was saying boom to the big win over Iowa. I just dont think Penn State is anything more than an average team. Appreciate the response.

Definitely not elite. But things change as we get more information. Your Wolverines are a prime example of that. I can’t remember a team growing so much as a team since probably Ohio State in 2014.
