WKU falls to 1-5 on the season after being blown out by a very average Charlotte team. WKU was 9 point favorites in this game as well. The Sanford hot seat is scorching hot now.

I wonder what his buyout is and if WKU can even afford it. The offense has completely collapsed since Brohm left town, creating one of the biggest regressions in the country. This team could easily be 4-2 but blew some late game leads. Losing to Maine is when I checked out on the season. Shows me that I was justified in not buying season tickets.

$1.2 Million buyout right now. At end of season it will be $900,000. I think Sanford will still be coaching WKU next season, and if the team doesn't have a solid showing, he will be fired.

In that event would Western want Petrino back?

I highly doubt it. Not sure what went wrong for him at UofL, but as far as WKU goes, he had a very toxic atmosphere when he was here and there is 0% chance WKU admin would want him back. Perhaps Taggart will get fired? :)

Rich Rodriguez is out there, but the way he had things end at Arizona probably doesn't make him in an attractive candidate. He had his best success in east of the Mississippi, though.

At least WKU can look forward to basketball season.
