October 1, 20187 yr I have always admired any coach who plays the game to win....not to not lose. Frank Reich is a new coach trying to establish a style to his team. I think that even though it was not successful, it will pay future dividends and respect in that locker room.
October 2, 20187 yr Frank Reich is going to get killed for this decision, but Mike Vrabel is getting praised for his decision. High risk, high reward. I don’t have an issue with the decision as long as you have a play you are confident in. The situations were totally different. The Tennesee decision is a perfect example of how people view things differently if it works. The decision by Tennesee was maybe even more gutsy. At that time the Eagles already kicked a field goal. Tennesee could have kicked the field goal and went for the tie. However he decided to go for it. When it they dont get it, the game literally is over right then since the Eagles already scored in overtime. It was either get it or lose. With the Colts, theoretically if they missed it they still had a chance to stop them and not lose like Tennesse would have if they missed it. The Tennesee decision was more gutsy, but no one has said a word about that being dumb. People have praised its because it worked and led to a win. Another example of how it depends on how the play turns out. All gutsy calls that goes against normal safe decisions are either talked about as being great decisions if they work, or dumb if it doesnt.
