Passive-Aggressive ListServ Scheduling

Featured Replies

One of my favorite things to laugh at is the coaches listserv during scheduling season. School A will post an open date and School B (which is always a powerhouse struggling to fill their dates) will respond with something like "we can come to you" or "we'll be happy to play" or "its a long trip but we can make it work." You never see a response to the response! Some of our state's coaches play that roll very well!

Any funny examples of scheduling comments you can remember? Don't include names of people or schools if at all possible.

I like when mediocre Team A says, "We need a week 4 game for 2019. Can be home or away." Then powerhouse Team B replies, "We need a week 4 game for 2019." It's obvious they are replying to Team A, but they're throwing it out there like they're not.

The best one would have to be the Berea thread last spring. Not really passive aggressive towards anyone, but it was absolutely hilarious.

Some of the best ones are when someone will reply-all to an email about a job position.

One of my favorites is from a few years back when a coach was looking for opponents to schedule for varsity and called out like four neighboring county schools, saying you can't get better playing those teams. Those coaches immediately responded cancelling frosh and JV games. Big laughs!

I enjoy the emails that will sometimes start with the phrase, "if you are looking for a win......................."

Off topic, but...

My favorite is when coaches mistakenly send emails to the listserv that were to their wives. :lol2:

Happened more often a few years ago.
