Yep. I was on the WT train and still am to this day. I think WT is a good coach, he has a good staff with him. Now I am a bit partial because I know WT personally and 2 of his assistants but thats not the point. FSU is in worse shape than most of us knew and you can't right the ship in 2 games. Need to see some big time improvement that is for sure and stop all the mental mistakes.

Agreed. It’s way worse than I had thought. WT came in to what appeared to be a top 10 squad, but it was all on the shoulders of LB’s and OL. I thought the receiving Corp would be a huge worry but they’ve performed well, IMO. I think if they can beat Syracuse and NIU handily (7-10 points) that this teams confidence will sky rocket. I can see the potential they just haven’t gotten a groove yet. Losin Khalan is big too, but Rasul will be fine as RB3.

And aside from JW5, DC4 also saved him a lot in 15 and 16.

That’s why I was saying I have no intention on judging him based on this year, and maybe not next year. But even with all that, his play calling needs to evolve. They’re doing dumb things, and that’s not all on the players. When you call repeated throws to the flat all night when the defense is reading those and you’re taking huge losses, you need to adjust.

 

Willie’s greatest strength is in recruiting. Certainly can’t cast him aside before leveraging that.

I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Willie Taggart for salvaging the train wreck that Skip Holtz left in his wake at USF. When Charlie Strong said he was left with a great foundation, he was not kidding. CWT was able to build a linebacker core and offensive line, but it took a few years, especially the O Line. And he built a great offensive line. Now, he's has to do the same at FSU, get the OL right, then build depth. That is not done in one recruiting class.
