When I lived in Henderson, I followed the Evansville football scene pretty closely.

 

Central must have one of their better teams, Daviess is pretty good this year.

 

The margin is surprising

Wow... I didn’t see this coming. How good is Central?

Central went to semi state last year. I know its traditionally not the case, but they're probably the best team in Evansville this year.

They are ranked #1 in IN 4A by Cal Preps.

Well what exactly are the take aways for DC from this game? Also who would Evansville Central compare to in Kentucky?

Took a look at Evansville central last night. They had huge linemen and athletes. DCs Tinsley got hurt first play and they were done after that. I would probably compare central to a bowling green type of team.

Central is huge across the board. Their tall athletic DB's gave DC fits. Losing Tinsley on the first play obviously didnt help. Central ran mostly an I formation and between their size advantage on the line and leading with the fullback DC really had no answer. When they adjusted to selling out on the run, Central made some very nice adjustments to counter with misdirection and end arounds. Central looked to be extremely well coached. Their big QB went down in the first half with a shoulder injury. Hope he is alright, he looked like the real deal. As for Tinsley, im hearing its a shoulder injury that should only keep him sidelined for a few weeks. DC should be fine in the long run.
