ACC Preview 2018

What do you expect from the teams in the ACC this year?

Division winners? Champion? Sleeper teams? Teams destined to take a step back?

This is perhaps the easiest one because there is one team that is just in a different league than everyone else and thats Clemson. I think the biggest storyline is definitely FSU. They are definitely the second most talented team in the league and the team seems to really be rallying around Coach Taggert. I think they will regain their place as the second best team in the conference again this year and 2017 will simply be a blip on the radar. I still don't know if I buy into Miami. They finished 2017 with 3 straight losses after an 11-0 start I think they regress a little this year. Who is Louisville without Lamar? Our most vocal UL fan on BGP is pretty pessimistic about the Cards this year, but I think they'll be better than most think. The defense literally can't be worse, and Petrino always has a good QB. They have 2 losses on the schedule that are built in with Bama and Clemson, but after that I give them a realistic chance in every game. Virginia Tech is going to be very solid again and should be a 9-10 win team. I also know one thing, nobody wants to go to Boston College.

As for Clemson being in a different league, I have to disagree. FSU was a bad throw away from upsetting them last year. The previous year the FSU defense gave away a 28-20 lead in the 4th to lose 37-34. Clemson is not that far ahead of FSU by any stretch of the imagination.

I hope you’re right.

Clemson has a unreal Dline this year.

I’ve been contemplating making the trip to Tallahassee for Clemson/FSU. Ticket prices are relatively reasonable for the game but I suspect that it’s in part due to the fact that no one knows what to expect from FSU. I’m scared if I wait to see if FSU is actually good that ticket prices will double. I’m in a real dilemma here.

Just do it. Should be a great game.

If Louisville even plays at an ACC average level of defense, they’d have won 10 games last year.

Road game at BC and home games against Wake and Georgia Tech will make or break the season.

There’s no argument from me about that. But FSU’s Dline of Burns, Kaindoh, Christmas and Wilson are just as good. I will not be surprised if they beat Clemson. I also won’t be surprised if they lose to Clemson. There are a lot of unknowns at this point.

I hope you’re right.

I’m just basing this solely off what I’ve seen from them. If Francois doesn’t get hurt, I believe he makes the throw to Izzo for the go ahead score and FSU wins last year. Unfortunately, it didn’t play out that way. FSU is LOADED with talent. Their stable of RB’s are good enough to be the best in the country. There are just a lot of unknowns at this point and we’ll get a good look at how they’ll be when they open with VaTech.

Clemson on top

Miami and FSU just behind

BC should have a good season

Louisville takes a step back this season

You don’t have to sell me on the running back room at FSU. I included Cam Akers on my Heisman watch list. The dude is a stud. What are you hearing about the QB? My money would be on Francois but I haven’t heard anything.

I’ve got a friend on staff, who I talk to frequently. Right now it’s Francois. He’s more consistent in his throws and his timing with receivers and quickly learning the offense. He did tell me not to count out Hockman, said he’s really making it interesting.

Also, remember the name Khalan Laborn. He’ll be the 3rd head of that 4 Headed monster. Kid is an absolute freak.
