STAYGOLD is a hater. You seem to want to support T while maintaining loyalty to Carver. There is no need to badmouth either one, because T had nothing to do with Carver leaving. T told them to run on their off weeks and stay in shape. They came back out of shape. They had some kids work hard in the weight room and some not, I'm sure. T wants everyone to work hard. That is what he is trying to set the standard at. It happens everywhere. Every program has people who "slack" off. The great programs hold each other accountable for it and correct it.

I am loyal to PCHS sports, want to see this really take off, glad to hear you don't feel I am a hater(not my style). I am not personally bad mouthing T or Carver. I understand that some of them came back out of shape, it happens. I just don't like the fact of taking away traditions that had been started. I know T wants things his way, but the circumstances leading to T being there need to be considered.

Mentally these kids were down, no matter who came in to take over.

5 year old traditions really aren't traditions. T is in it for the long haul. He's a good young coach who wants to build the program into something great.

Maybe not in your eyes, but I am sure if effected the juniors and seniors. It was all they knew...to have that big of a change after what happened was rough on them. Sometimes change needs to happen in smaller steps, we have to remember they are still kids...

I really hope that someone, whether that is T or not, builds a great program.

I still go watch my high school play when I have a chance and take some of the kids with me.

I heard the discussion of the tradition being lost several times. What traditions were in place that were so important?

I'm not sure you realize what a successful high school program looks like. I see what you're saying but if you look at Highlands or Cov Cath, football has to be a priority in a winning program. That means academics are important, attitude is important, and behavior is important. T is old school to an extent. He won't cater an ego. It's his way or the highway. When kids realize his way is the right way, PC will win, kids will play, he will build a program.

I saw good potential with PCHS. It takes time to turn it around.

Well the coach I was talking about was the coach for Taylor Coach Hensley...:thumb:

I came from the most successful high school program in NKY...I am not sure "his way or the highway" will fly in Pendleton Co, his highway better be the same one they are on. It has to start with the administration too. Not only do we need to embrace the academics, attitude and behavior on the team, it has to be embraced within the entire school system. They need to work together and build this.

We had the most disciplined and academically strong football players in our basement every week when I was in school. These guys would use our weights and run around our neighborhood in order to be and have a winning program. Things are a little different when you are in the rural community.

I saw a different team in the last 4 games of this season. The seniors took back some of their "traditions" and attitude and behaviors changed. They actually looked like they wanted to be out there.
