Jake Swolsky Eligible

Featured Replies

I can give you all the very simple answer, and that's that St. Pat has a long-standing policy of not blocking the eligibility of kids who transfer away. And as long as the player's former school doesn't make a fuss then neither does the association.

The KHSAA doesn’t care about the sending school’s thoughts.

Having been directly involved in a number of these, I'm going to have to disagree.

To be more clear. The sending school has the option to "release" a transfer. If they do, that transfer can usually play immediately.

Now, whether Augusta or Bracken (he lives in a spot where it's hard to tell which) have anything to say on the matter when it comes to Jake I can't say. But they almost never get involved unless the transfer is going from one to the other.

Per Evan Dennison tweet...Jake Swolsky has been ruled eligible for Mason County (transferred from St. Pat). Will be a nice addition to MC sports.

For those of us that have not seen him play, give us more info on him. Thanks.

I watched him this summer. Seems like a solid HS player. Good size for a Guard, but nothing exceptional popped out at me. I think getting to the basket with his size was the most impressive thing. Albeit, he was probably adjusting to his new teammates considering this was in early June after his transfer.

I spoke with someone directly involved in these decisions. The thinking of the sending school has no bearing.
