I would like to know if anyone can enlighten me as to how many organizations there are in Kentucky that do All-State, All-Region or Conference, All-District, All-Northern Kentucky etc. type of awards, and also what the consensus is on 1) whether there is any true analysis that goes into selecting players/coaches and 2) whether or not being selected truly does anything to enhance a player's recruiting with colleges, etc. I know the C-J has their 1st team, 2nd team and Honorable Mention all-state, I know the AP does an all-state team, I know that the Greater Louisville Coaches Association has all-district teams for members, and of course, the bluegrasspreps.com all-state teams. Any others? Are they worth it? All opinions appreciated.

The Daily Independent does an "All-Area Team" for the FIVCO Region.

Danville Advocate has an "all area" team that only encompasses Boyle and surrounding counties.

These teams are interesting and in my opinion mis-informed. 2017 my son made many 1st and 2nd teams in all state, region, Couirer Journal, Cincy Enquirer and NKY Tribune. Obviously I think he is a good player but un-deserving of the awards. Only played 4 games due to injury. Made many his Junior year as well, those deserving as he played the whole season. I feel If the awarders we’re informed they would not have selected him. Other deserving players would have been recognized.
